New Lesson: Small Batch Lip Balm Making - Check it out!!
This writing lesson is based on Canadian Author Neil Pasricha's BOOK OF AWESOME, his blog and his TED TALK. It is an English Language Arts (ELA) lesson created for Primary and Middle school (Grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8).
This complete 23 page Awesome Writing Lesson will teach your students to look for the "Little Joys that Make Life Sweet". The lesson includes a link to a TED TALK, followed by a step by step guide to choosing a topic and then writing about a "Little Joy" in their life. Included in this lesson is a BRAINSTORMING handout, a WRITING RUBRIC and a REVISION CHECKLIST. Best of all, STUDENT SAMPLES have been included. From start to finish, this lesson is COMPLETE. No prep required.
*You do not need to own one of Neil Pasricha's books for this lesson, but it is nice to have one in your class. I have linked his 1000 Awesome Things BLOG in the lesson.
This complete 68 page lesson called "Creating a Signature Beverage" will teach your students how to create, design, market and showcase a Beverage Business. There is a 12 page WORKBOOK for students to work through. Also included are links for 2 KAHOOTS to play, that will reinforce concepts as you go. Lastly, the slide show is full of student samples, so your students know exactly what the expectations are.
This is a great UNIT to complete two-three weeks prior to a holiday/event (Halloween, Christmas, Spring or Summer Break) and will take approximately two weeks (one period per day) to complete. Students stay engaged in the process and look forward to SHOWCASING their beverage. My class completed this right before Christmas, sold tickets to other classes and raised money for a charitable event.
